The DC Hydrophilic PU foam MBBR media is an advanced cube-shaped biofilm carrier engineered to elevate biological water treatment performance in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and advanced wastewater processing facilities. Constructed from a proprietary blend of polyurethane (PU) and a hydrophilic formulation, it features a standard white finish that combines ecological safety with robust structural integrity, boasting a service life exceeding 15 years to ensure long-term operational reliability.

At its core, the cube geometry is optimized to balance water flow dynamics and biofilm protection, complemented by a specific surface area of over 4500 m²/m³ and a porosity of ≥98%. This hydrophilic structure enables rapid water infiltration and microbial colonization, achieving biofilm formation in just 5–10 days. The expansive, water-friendly microenvironment supports the proliferation of nitrifying, denitrifying, and heterotrophic microorganisms, forming a dense, active biofilm that efficiently breaks down ammonia, nitrite, and organic pollutants in the water column.

Mechanically, the carrier exhibits exceptional resilience: a tensile strength of 350–500 Kpa and an annual wear resistance rate of ≤6% ensure structural integrity under continuous hydraulic shear and system agitation. With an individual media density of 0.95±0.02 g/cm³ and a volume expansion rate of ≈1:1.73 in water, it maintains uniform suspension in the reactor, guaranteeing consistent microbial contact and reliable treatment performance. A microbial load capacity of 20–30 g/L further enhances its pollutant removal efficiency, while a flexible dosage rate of 15%–30% allows adaptation to varying system scales and water quality demands.

Operating reliably across a temperature range of 5–60℃, this media requires minimal maintenance, reducing operational downtime and costs. Its food-grade composition ensures no leaching of harmful substances, making it fully compliant with aquaculture and environmental safety standards.
