Description
The DC 63 BIOCHIP is a high-performance biofilm carrier designed to optimize biological treatment efficiency in water and wastewater processing. It is predominantly applied in Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) and Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge (IFAS) systems, which are celebrated for their superior performance in diverse water purification scenarios.
At its core, this carrier functions by offering an exceptionally large and well-protected surface area—surpassing 1600 m²/m³—where specialized microorganisms can attach, grow, and form a dense, active biofilm. This biofilm is the key to breaking down organic contaminants, nitrogen, and other pollutants in wastewater, ensuring consistent and effective purification.
A defining feature of the DC 63 BIOCHIP is its “protected active surface area” design. Unlike conventional carriers, its internal pore structure securely anchors microbial colonies, shielding them from mechanical shear forces and turbulence common in MBBR systems. This protection minimizes biofilm detachment, a persistent issue with traditional carriers that often leads to process instability. The result is a more stable microbial community, which translates to reduced operational risk, lower maintenance costs, and more reliable long-term treatment performance.
With a lifespan exceeding 15 years, it is fabricated from 100% white virgin HDPE, ensuring exceptional durability and chemical resistance. Its precise dimensions of Φ25*10mm, 63-hole structure, and density of 0.94–0.97 g/cm³ provide optimal fluid dynamics in reactor systems. The high filling ratio of 15%–70% and a packing density of over 228,750 carriers per cubic meter allow for flexible adaptation to different reactor sizes and treatment loads.
