The DC BIO BLOK is an advanced, high-performance plastic biofilm carrier designed specifically for Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology within demanding applications like Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP). Engineered from robust, UV-stabilized HDPE, its unique internal grid structure provides an exceptionally large protected surface area for the attachment and growth of beneficial nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria. The internal baffles shield biomass from shear forces, while the external fins promote optimal mixing, oxygen transfer, and contact efficiency with wastewater constituents. Its slightly buoyant design ensures uniform fluidization with minimal aeration energy. DC BIO BLOK excels in removing ammonia, nitrite, BOD, and COD, offering superior process stability, resilience to load fluctuations, and reduced sludge production compared to conventional fixed-film or suspended growth systems. It is NSF/ANSI 61 certified for use in potable water contact and aquaculture applications.
